Francois Holder, MD

Francois Holder, MD graduated from New York University Medical School in 1983. He completed a three-year residency, followed by an additional year as Chief Resident, at the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He went on to earn board certification in Internal Medicine. Dr. Holder then pursued a two-year fellowship in Infectious Disease at SUNY Stony Brook, culminating in board certification in 1990


With a career in medicine spanning nearly four decades, Dr. Holder practiced in both New York and Virginia, caring for primary care and hospitalized patients with a wide range of conditions, including diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, HIV, chronic liver disease, COPD, and asthma. Before retiring in 2022, he served as Chief of Infectious Diseases at the Veteran Administration Hampton Medical Center and as Assistant Professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School.
In retirement, Dr. Holder enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, tackling DIY projects, gardening, swimming, and contributing to land conservancy efforts.
